Undergraduate Student Research

Bachelor of Science Research Projects and Theses

Undergraduate students in the BS and BA degrees are required to complete a Culminating Experience, which gives them the opportunity to engage in research in earth and climate sciences topics.

For the BA degree, this may include a Senior Project, which is directed, original research on an Earth Sciences-related problem (ERTH 695) and a Capstone Presentation of the senior project at a poster session or oral thesis defense open to the public (ERTH 690).

For the BS degree, this may include the Senior Project and Capstone Presentation as above OR Undergraduate Research, which consists of research activities including literature review, project design, data collection, and analysis AND a Senior Thesis, to include a written report and oral presentation approved by the thesis committee.
