The mission of the Department of Earth & Climate sciences is to prepare students for careers and graduate school by providing a strong foundation in Earth sciences, critical thinking, and the scientific method. Students learn job-based skills including collaboration and effective communication through scientific writing, and oral and visual presentations. The department emphasizes student-led research, with students going on to careers in geology, water resources, and climate and environmental science.
